Czech mountaineering union approved chalk ban again

Czech Mountaineering union (CHS) organized the annual general assembly where the most discussed topic - the ban of chalk on Czech sandstone criticized by the majority of all Czech elite climbers - was approved again and chalk is still prohibited.

Most of the suggestions made by the conservative leadership of the Union, led by chairman Alena Cepelkova Ottova, was accepted by the majority of members.

The union represents actually 13300 members and this year a new rule  was implemented that also the individual members could vote.
The ban on chalk was approved by 2216 votes, 1603 votes were against and 396 did not vote. Altogether there were 4223 votes.
