New Chairman of the Czech Mountaineering Union: Zdenek Hruby

Předseda ČHS Zdeněk HrubýCzech Mountaineering Union has elected new chairman today on its general assembly in Prague. The New chairman Zdenek Hruby has exchanged Alena Cepelkova who had served her 2nd term and did not want to continue in next period.

Zdenek Hruby is 52 years old, has a rich mountaineering CV, he climbed 7 eightthousanders, was leader of several Himalayas expeditions, was granted by several ascents of the year and in his professional live he used to work also in state administrative btw. like deputy of the Czech vice premier or deputy of finance minister.

The assembly was extraordinary recalled several months earlier because of death of the one of the member of leadership Stanislav Silhan in the end of the 2008.

The new elected leadership:
  • Chairman of Czech Mountaineering Union (CHS) Zdenek Hruby
  • 1st Vice Chairman Jan Bloudek
  • 2nd Vice Chairman Petr Resch

    Members of the executive comity:
  • Zbysek Cesenek
  • Jiri Cermak
  • Vladimir Wolf
  • Josef Uherek

    The new leadership put common candidate list and offers program which is considered as progressive. One of the task would be to unified a bit split Union on traditional and progressive parts demonstrated on controversial rules of climbing on Czech sandstones with the most sensitive question of ban of chalk there.
    The regular general assembly with this sensitive topics is scheduled on March 21st, 2009.
