The Czech Mountaineering Association drew attention on Facebook to the winter conditions for ski mountaineering and ice climbing in the Krkonoše Mountains, which are adapted to the nature conservation rules in the national park. With the exception of quiet zones, where movement is restricted to designated routes, ski touring/ski mountaineering can be practiced on all tourist trails and off-trail, except for forest land and land owned by individuals who do not wish to allow strangers to enter (fenced or otherwise marked land). The KRNAP administration, in cooperation with the Mountain Rescue Service and the Czech Mountain Guides Association, has prepared eight recommended routes. Ice climbing on natural ice is only permitted within the KRNAP in Labský důl on the right bank of the Elbe at the end of the groomed cross-country trail Buď fit. Climbing is only permitted when the snow depth exceeds 30 centimeters and there is a sufficient layer of ice, and only during daylight hours between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Registration is required before climbing. Detailed information about the rules and permitted routes is available on the KRNAP Administration website. See Facebook ČHS:
