Ski mountaineering begins today at the Winter Olympics

Ski mountaineering officially begins today as a new Olympic discipline at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano-Cortina in Bormio, Italy, where the sprint is part of today's premiere program. On Saturday, February 21, the second ski mountaineering discipline will be the mixed relay. Czechia is not represented in ski mountaineering. Live broadcasts of the races will be available on ČT Sport, among others.

Schedule & Results - Ski Mountaineering

Czech representative Eva Matějovičová attempted to qualify for the Olympics, but failed at the beginning of December in the last qualifying race in ski mountaineering sprint and did not advance to the Games.

Unlike the Czech Republic, Slovakia will have three competitors at the premiere of ski mountaineering at the 2026 Winter Olympics. Marianna Jagerčíková, Rebeka Cully, and Jakub Šiarnik are set to compete for Slovakia in the sprint in Bormio.
Slovakia is expected to field one team for Saturday's race, with Marianna Jagerčíková and Jakub Šiarnik set to compete according to preliminary rosters.
