Petrohradské Padání

24. – 26. 04. 2026

Another year has passed, and here is the latest annual of the Petrohradské padání (Petrohrad's Falling).

First off, it’s worth noting that this is most likely the last one in Žihle, so there are big question marks hanging over the event’s future. But let’s not get too downhearted - as usual, let’s go enjoy a good dose of coarse - grained granite, the technical challenges that only Mother Nature can provide, and the atmosphere that can only be conjured by the people who enrich the “fall” with their participation.

The Petrohradské padání starts at noon on Friday, but you can join the event (competition) at any time (registration will be open until around noon on Saturday). As always, participants will receive a guidebook and set out to complete the eight hardest boulders from a selection of nearly two hundred. Surprisingly, nearly half of the boulders are new this year; the rest are “recycled” from an event more than ten years ago. Adults, children, young people, the elderly, the strong, the weak, the cheerful… the sad ones don’t come to the event. On Friday evening, we’ll sit and chat by the fire; on Saturday, the popular band Sisus Ralsis will arrive, and we’ll wrap things up by the fire again. Sunday is a sort of farewell to a weekend lived to the fullest. People sleep in cabins, cars, tents, or under the open sky. Refreshments, restroom facilities, hot showers, and a kitchen are available throughout the event.

ATTENTION: A MAJOR CHANGE COMPARED TO PREVIOUS YEARS:

The property owners do not tolerate non-participants entering the premises. Therefore, if you do not intend to participate in the “falling” event—whether as a competitor or a spectator—please do not come here (any violations will be handled by the police). Parking for participants will be clearly marked on-site this time (the cabin camp and the asphalt area of the playground behind the apartment buildings).
