Czech Mountaineering Union released the statement on the death of the ex-president of Czech Republic Václav Havel: "The Executive Committee of the Czech Mountaineering Association expresses deep sorrow over the death of Vaclav Havel.

In his personality the man who represented the moral authority of his entire life has gone. He struggled for humanistic principles and fair play - the values honored by climbers.

Honor his memory."

Vaclav Havel died on December 18, 2011. Czech government declared three days of national mourning from today until Friday, when state funeral is held.
