The Grand prize of the 25th annual of International Mountaineering Film Festival (MHFF) was granted to Slovak film Neznama Antarktida (Unknown Antarctica) by Pavol Barabas about walk from borders of Antarctica to its highest point. The festival nicknamed Festak in Teplice nad Metuji (close to Adrspach sandstone towers, north east Bohemia, north of Czech Republic) finished today.
Ennstall, Austria - sport rock climbing just around the border
Some of the most popular areas visited frequently by Czech climbers are just across the border. One of them is Ennstal- close to Linz, Austria- which is well know mostly by climbers from Souther Bohemia.

Adam Ondra climbed multipitch WoGü 8c in Ratikon, Switzerland, last weekend. The route by Beat Kammerlander from 1997 had originally suggested two pitches of 8c and Adam is prepared to confirm the global grade of entire route, Adams father wrote today on Czech version of CzechClimbing.com.

The annual Petzl Roc Trip in Millau, France took place on June 25-30 2008 with the participation of invited Czech climbers Adam Ondra and Martin Stranik.

So the aim was the limestone paradise of Vinales, but for some organizational reason we went via the snobby beach resort Varadero, and there we discovered bouldering potential.

Men lead semifinals - Tomas Mrazek (CZE) toped - continues. Jorg Verhoeven (NED) and Cedric Lachat (FRA) did not continue - both were tired from yesterdays boulders. Czech girl Silva Rajfova was 16th on boulders. In women lead yesterday Johanna Ernst (AUT) won, then Maja Vidmar (SLO) was 2nd and Mina Markovic (SLO) 3rd. Speed women - 1st Edita Ropek (POL), 4th Lucie Hrozova (CZE).
Report from European Championship - Paris (FRA) 2008 - qualification: Tomas Mrazek top, the rest of Czech did not continue: Martin Stranik 31st, Petr Resch 44th, Jakub Hlavacek 55th. Women: Lucka Hrozova 30th, Silva Rajfova 33rd. In speed qualification Libor Hroza continues from 12th place, Lucie Hrozova from 4th place, Martin Sifra finished just under the line on 17th place.
On Wednesday´s qualification of bouldering the best Czech man was Martin Stráník on 23rd place, Jakub Hlavacek finished 42nd. From Czech women in bouldering qualification Silva Rajfova was 16th, Nelly Kudrova and Helena Lipenska finished on the same position 35th.
There were no other Czechs on the bouldering starting list.
