Tomasz Oleksy (PL) won the International Championships of the Czech Republic in bouldering in Prague tonight. The 2nd was Martin Fojtík, 3rd Jan Zbranek.

There is no better tram ride in Prague than that which carries me to the bus station on Friday afternoons. Hopefully the sun is shining and there is a cool breeze. If not all is not lost: the weather a couple of hundred kilometers to the west can be completely different. Our original target was the granite of Salbitchijen in the Swiss valley above the town of Göschenen. Although Salbitchijen did not make it to the menu in the end due to bad weather we did get something done and would like to share it with you. Perhaps it will inspire some of you to visit the area.
Today (July 5th) Věra Kotasová (CZ) won 3rd place at the World Championship of bouldering in Munich. Tomáš Mrázek (CZ) put in a fine performance and ended 9th in bouldering along with his title in difficulty.
Tomáš Mrázek won the World Championship and is again World Champion! It is according to the final results of the Chamionship. He sent the final route and was 1st in front of Patxi Usobiaga (2nd,ESP) and Alexandre Chabot (3rd,FRA), who both also sent the finals route, but had worse results from the semifinals. Look at a couple of photos from the speach, in which he went through his life and its different periods from rock climbing, via high altitude mountaineering, expeditions accross ice and deserts, politics in European parliament to reacent project of establishing five museums that should focuse on life in the mountains from different angles.
