Piolets d'Or 2025: Czechia it 2x in the preliminary selection
Czechia appears twice in the preliminary selection of climbing ascents for the Piolets d'Or 2025 award for 2024: Jaroslav Bánský, Radoslav Groh, and Zdeněk Hák for the first ascent of the virgin Muchu Chhish (7,453 m) and Marek Holeček and Slovak Ondra Húserka, who died during the descent, for the first ascent of the east face of Langtang Lirung (7,227 m).
This year's awards ceremony will take place on December 9-12, just like last year in the Dolomites at the San Martino di Castrozza mountain resort in Trentino, Italy.
