Czech ski mountaineering representative Eva Matějovičová failed yesterday in the final qualifying race in ski mountaineering sprint and will not advance to the upcoming Winter Olympics in Italy. At yesterday's race in Salt Lake City, USA, her ski strap broke in the quarterfinals, and she finished last without advancing to the semifinals, according to the Czech Mountaineering Union's Facebook page. Eva's chances of advancing to the Winter Olympics have thus vanished.
