The report was published today on one of the largest Czech general news sites, iDNES.cz.
It reported later that it was Jiri Danek (45) who died on descent from Gasherbrum I.
There was a lack of official information because the minister did not want to publish the news about the expedition (contrary to the recent highly publicized expedition of Prague mayor, Pavel Bem- who climbed Mount Everest).
Martin Bursik (47) is the chairmen of the Czech Green Party and has been practising mountaineering for many years (Caucasus, Pamir, Tibet, Nepal, Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia - Huascaran, Chimborazzo, Orizaba).
The other Czechs on Gasherbrum were: Pavel Klimes (head of the expedition) and Josef Kalensky. It was not originaly clear who died. The media speculates about an avalanche fall, but it was not confirmed later.
Later was reported that Jiri Danek died after a fall from easy terrain where he probably slipped or lost his balance.

German elite climber Alexander Huber free climbed the huge overhang- considered by some as the the biggest roof in the world- Baur-Dach (Baur´s Roof), an old aid A3 route on the north face of Cima Ovest, Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Italy. He suggested the difficulty of 8c (11-).
The American Dave Graham did the 4th ascent of Biographie aka Realization 9a+ on Monday after several weeks at Ceüse with Chris Sharma and Ethan Pringle, Kairn.com has informed us. And we´ve got the picture of Dave in Realization from the Czech climber Jiri Ponomarev.
A Czech mountaineer died on Monday July 16, 2007 in region of Bezingi in the Caucasus, Russia. 
Czech youngster Martin Stranik (17 years old) did his hardest route, Dikobraz 8c/c+ RP at Visnove in Slovakia yesterday. He entered the ascent to his diary here on czechclimbing.com.
