Jan Špáta, maker of a trad climbing documentary film died
The Czech excelent film document maker Jan Špáta died. He is the author of the top climbing film about Czech sandstone climbers "Okamžik radosti" (The Moment of Enjoyment) from the 1965 which had been one of the best films presented last years in the International Mountaineering Film Festival (also known as Festak) in the town Teplice nad Metují (North-East Bohemia).
World Cup - Kuala Lumpur (MAS) 12.-13.8.2006 - lead
The sixth UIAA World Cup in lead climbing 2006 took place this weekend in Kuala Lumpur (MAS).
Tomáš Mrázek finished the sixth and he is now the first in combination ranking (lead and bouldering).
Tomas Mrazek ended the 10th on the last competition of the World Cup lead climbing in Singapore last weekend 05./06.08.2006. The speed was without Czechs.
World Cup Val Daone(speed) and Qinghai Province (lead)
The last weekend in July (29./30.07.2006) two competitions of the World Cup climbing took place, the one in lead in Qinghai Province (CHN), the second in speed in Val Daone (ITA).
The next 23rd International Mountaineering Film Festival (also known as Festak) is comming soon. As posters in the taking place - Teplice nad Metují (North-East Bohemia) announce - (look at the photos from the last weekend), the festival will take place there on August 24-27 2006.

He died in age of 73 years.
