The inventor of "red point" climbing style Kurt Albert (from the Frankenjura, DE) was probably the biggest attraction for rock climbers at the Festival of Alpinism in Smichov Prague, Czech Republic this weekend.
Tomas Mrazek ended 3rd in finals of the World Cup competition in lead climbing Kranj (SLO) today. Cedric Lachat (SUI) won, Flavio Crespi (ITA) was the 2nd.
Tomas Mrazek gained also 3rd place in overall result World Cup in lead 2007. The first is Patxi Usobiaga and 2nd Ramón Julian Puigblanque (both ESP).
The first women was Maja Vidmar (SLO), she won also overall World Cup 2007.
The final bouldering event for the World Cup 2007 has just finished here in Brno. It was an action packed event, won by an energetic Frenchwoman Juliette Danion and Russian powerhouse Dmitry Sharafutdinov.

Adam Ondra has got changed penalty for climbing with chalk
Yesterday the Czech Mountaineering union (CHS) published a new decision about Adam Ondra (the Czech's highest ranked rock climber, 14 years) about his usage of chalk (magnesium) at Czech traditional sandstone areas where it is forbidden. The new penalty: suspension from CHS activities for 1 year, if he again breaks the rules with one year.

Bernd Arnold christens Czech book: Climbing in Saxony
German (Saxon) climbing legend Bernd Arnold christened the new book Lezeni v Sasku (Climbing in Saxony) at last weekend's release party. The book was compiled from several years worth of articles on www.lezec.cz (the Czech version of CzechClimbing.com) written by Jarda Marsik.
Tomas Mrazek and Nelly Kudrova won Czech Championship in lead climbing this weekend (1-2 Dec 2007) in Prague.
