Our Jan Štípek finished in 4th place in the final today at the European Cup in lead climbing in Campitello di Fassa in northern Italy. Two other Czechs finished in the semi-finals: Šimon and Štěpán Potůček in 17th and 20th place.

World Cup Prague again in 2026 and 2028, lead added to boulder
The International Federation of Sport Climbing IFSC has confirmed that the World Cup competitions will be held in Prague in 2026 and 2028, with bouldering next year also adding lead climbing. The previously approved World Climbing Championships in Brno are scheduled for 2027.
Adam Ondra advanced from the World Cup bouldering qualification in Prague to tomorrow's semi-finals today from shared 7th place. Our other men finished in the qualification. Czech Lukáš Mokroluský won silver yesterday at the European Youth Bouldering Championship in Italy. The second medal was secured for the Czech Republic by Adéla Bodanská, who won bronze.
Pepa Šindel has climbed a Classified 9a/+ in Frankenjura
Pepa Šindel has recorded another route of difficulty 9a or higher, the Classified 9a/9a+ (11 UIAA) line in the German Frankenjura. He recorded the climb in his Lezec.cz diary and is reporting on it on Instagram. It is Pepa's eighth recorded route of 9a or 9a/+, and he also has one 9a+ in his diary.

Adam Ondra has posted a new video from a recent visit to Fontainebleau, France, where he managed to flash several difficult boulders at 8B and 8B+ and then tried the Imothep Assiss project with local legends, which could possibly be at 9A+.
Speed, lead and boulder will be separate at the 2028 Olympics
The International Olympic Committee confirmed yesterday that 3 sets of medals will be prepared for sport climbing at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, meaning there will be separate competitions in speed, lead and boulder. They announced this on the Czech Olympic Committee's Facebook page.
