Roman Brt, former member of Czech national climbing team, died
Roman Brt, the author of a lot of top level Czech traditional sandstones routes and ex member of the Czech national climbing team, died on Sunday November 4th, 2007.
The first World Cup competition in bouldering to take place in the Czech Republic begins in a couple days. I would like to introduce to you to the construction and parameters of the bouldering walls, where the world best boulderers will test their skills.
Patxi Usobiaga (ESP) and Angela Eiter (AUT) won the World Cup competition in lead climbing in Valence (FRA) on 2/3 November 2007. The competition was without Czech participation, because the Czech lead climbing favorite Tomas Mrazek had some problems with his knee and did not start.
Markus Bock climbed a new very hard route in the Frankenjura. The route is in the Krottenseer Forst and an old project of Markus Windisch. Markus tried the route already since a few years.
The first part is an 9 moves long boulder in the grade 8b fb and then you have to climb a 11 moves long 8a route to the top. The hardest thing is to string the two parts together.
Tomas Mrazek will not attend the bouldering WC in Brno (CZ)
The Sunday was the last day for registration of competitors to the World Cup competition in bouldering 2007 in Brno, Czech Republic.
The number of registered climbed up to 100 competitors, including 39 women.
Martin Stráník and Lucie Hrozová won the Czech Championship in bouldering in Brno today.
In men Slovakian David Satanek was 2nd and Czech Stepan Stranik 3rd.
In women Slovakian Katarina Fickuliaková was 2nd and Dominika Kováčikova also from Slovakia was 3rd.
The overall winners of the Czech Cup in bouldering 2007 are Martin Stranik and Nelly Kudrova.
