Libor Hroza, a Czech climber, finished 9th at the World Cup competition of speed climbing in Chamonix (FRA). The other Czech competitor, Jiří Švácha, was 20th. Women: Eliška Karešová 14., Martina Glaserová 18.
There also took place the World Cup competition in lead climbing in Chamonix too, where the only Czechs were girls, Soňa Hnízdilová, who finished 29th place, Kateřina Chudobová, she was 46th and a man Vaclav Malina, who was 68th.
A quick word from the World Championship in Munich
The World Championship took place july 2nd to 5th in Munich, Germany. The World Championship takes place biannually, so motivation for the competition was excellent.
Body of the Czech lost in winter found under Triglav
The body of a young Czech mountaineer was found today under Triglav. The man was lost with his friend last winter. The body was found on the North West side of Triglav (Primorska Zadnjica) under snow avalanche. The Slovenian rescue service has not found the second one yet.
World Cup in lead climbing in Zurich (SUI) this weekend (24/25 June 2005) was without participation of the best Czech climber, Tomas Mrazek, but there was another Czech, Vaclav Malina, who ended 37th, and three Czech women.
