Adam Ondra was granted by the award of the sportsman of Brno (his hometown) mainly because of the recent climbing of Dawn Wall, El Cap, Yosemites. Besides, he was nominated for top 10 athletes of the year in the Czech Republic.

He informed about the award on Instagram:

Took an annual rest, two weeks no climbing, but living in this Dawn Wall media frenzy instead... Hard to say what is more tiring... In the picture, getting the award of the sportsman of Brno (my hometown). Besides, I was nominated for top 10 athletes of the year in the Czech republic. Quite an honour!
