The last World Cup competition 2008 Kranj (SLO) this weekend
The decision who will win the overall World Cup 2008 in lead climbing will fall this weekend on the last competition in Kranj (Slovenia). Among the women has been already decided, Johanna Ernst (AUT) is sure winner, but among men there are three candidates and Czech favorite Tomas Mrazek is the first of them at the moment.
Czech kids were successful in Hungary on international climbing competition on October 22-23, 2008 in the town Kiskunfelegyhaza. There took place 5th annual of Darvas cup.
Czech mountaineering legend Standa Silhan died. The Czech mountaineering union web site informed about it on November 1, 2008. Stanislav Silhan was 53 years old.
Czech women Silva Rajfova finished on 22nd place as the only Czech representative on World Cup competition in bouldering in Moscow (RUS). The women today´s podium results: 1. Katharina Saurwein (AUT), 2. Natalija Gros (SLO) together with Katja Vidmar (SLO), men: 1. Rustam Gelmanov (RUS), 2. Kilian Fischhuber (AUT), 3. Stanislav Kleshnov (UKR).
Czech Championship in bouldering 2008 will take place in climbing hall Smichoff, Prague 5 on Saturday December 13. The climbing will be partly on bouldering tower and partly on climbing walls.

By sending of AD, the classic 9a in Frankenjura, Patxi has completed the hardest trilogy consisted of Biographie 9a+ (2004), La Rambla, 9a+ (2007) a Action Directe 9a (2008).

He leads the ranking now followed by Ramon Julian Pugblanque (ESP) and Jorg Verhoeven (NED). The Czech favorite could keep his first position, if he would bet better than his two mentioned competitors. The result of World Cup is also important because the first and second would be nominated to the World Games 2009. All the three have just now the 3rd place of the World Cup 2008 for sure.
Tomas Mrazek is from the three, the only one who has already won entire World Cup in 2004, when he struggled a big battle with the almost unbeatable Alexandre Chabot (FRA).
